About Café Cometa

Café Cometa is a small lunchroom cafe located in a vibrant neighborhood in Barcelona, serving gourmet coffee, and delicious dessert and sandwiches. It is a popular hang out place with nordic charm. The Danish owner selected many beautiful Scandinavian inspired art pieces to hang on the wall to create a beautiful and welcoming atmosphere. A lot of blogs had written about its bright and warm nordic interiors.

The Objective

The big challenge was to develop a visual identity that would maintain its interior aesthetics, but raise the brand to a new level. This is a light, fun identity, with several elements that make the identity distinctive in the neighborhood and adaptable to different applications.

I worked with concepts of stars and comet to bring these allures of warm, bright, and creativity that are well present in the brand's interiors. I created an array of comet-inspired graphics assets, which includes stars and explosions that are fun to customize and on the packagings. The simplicity of the logos and icons are inspired by warm nordic designs and illustrations.

After the iconographic study of the main symbol that represents bright star, I decided to create an array of mini stars and explosion illustrations that could be used for visual communication assets.

For social media, we would like to make our instagram posts focus on the coffee and food. The general photos color tone should be warm. We can also use the brand’s graphic assets for the story, and some posts.
